Okay, things are moving apace and we have some new numbers to chortle over...
It was suggested that I add a couple of comparison categories, including one for top countries that are not primarily English speaking and that sounded interesting.
But, I am an American, and that means I barely know what the various regions of my OWN country are, much less the geography or languages of the rest of the world! All that is a long-winded way of saying "If I screw this up,well, sorry."
First, the big picture:
476 reader responses from 43 countries!
In the "U.S. vs THEM" (because someone asked) we have 268 Yanks vs 208 from the rest of the world
Top Non-US countries:
Canada..........40
United Kingdom..36 (E 27,W 6,S 2,NI 1)
Australia.......35
New Zealand.....15
Denmark.........10
Top countries that are not primarily English speaking:
Denmark......10
Germany.......8
Netherlands...7
Norway........6
Sweden........6
Top US States (268 total in 44 states):
Texas........26
Florida......20
California...17
Michigan.....14
Virginia.....13
And the US States with NO responses at all (Illiteracy is a horrible thing):
Hawaii
North Dakota
Rhode Island
South Dakota
Vermont
West Virginia
The survey will continue for 4 more days or until a day passes with no responses, then we will have the final tabulation and I will put the maps together so we can all OOOH! and AHHH!
Thanks again to everyone who has participated so far, this has been fascinating!
