...A little later, they had just finished with breakfast and were all sitting around drinking coffee when both wolves quickly came to their feet. A second later, they looked confused.
Morales and Jasmine passed a glance before he turned back to the wolves. "What's wrong?" he asked them.
Both wolves looked at him, then focused on the door, but looked confused again and turned back toward Morales.
"What the fuck?" Morales said even as he headed for the rifles.
"You two stay here," Jasmine told the girls. When Morales handed her rifle to his wife and quietly slid the door open, she, her husband and the wolves slipped out, quickly closing the door behind them.
A few seconds later, "What the fuck?" Morales said again, this time loudly enough for the girls to hear him back inside. Of course, they had their ears pressed to the door by then...
