On the one hand - I don't care about votes. Or I should say - I don't let them determine what I write. I've said before I write for myself, write the stories that I enjoy, and if others do - glad you do. If you don't, read something else.
But I'm curious about why people vote as they do. So my latest story, as yet unfinished. "Everything I Ever Wanted: Side A", is sitting at 5.7. Ok - that's fine. Also seems to be my most divisive story so far. I see several 10's, and several 1's. More 9's and 2's matching. It is slightly more skewed to one side.
I'm ok with that. The character of this story is probably my worst. The other stories, you can say Sandy, Ryan, or Steve from "The Feel" were pretty normal guys, actually pretty decent guys, who were given powers/advantages they didn't expect that got out of their control, but so far, 2 out of the 3 reclaimed some morality (though I'd hardly call "impregnating multiple women/girls" moral men).
This Steve? What a dick. And so I'm not surprised at the range of scores, but I do sometimes cock my head and just go "Huh. Interesting. I wonder how they'll respond in one chapter more...."
