I thought I'd let you know how Two Diaries is going.
First off, I'd like to say I got some nice feedback on this one, as well as my first public comments. So it seems some people are enjoying it quite a lot, which is great.
Tomorrow, as per my usual weekly schedule, chapter 7 is coming out. After that, chapter 8 will come out on schedule. And chapter 9?
Well, chapter 8 turned out... extremely intense, as well as very hard to write. It was difficult thematically, and it's about 10k words long (much larger than the typical chapter of this story).
So what's happening with chapter 9? I'm writing it, that's what. I've got about half of it finished, and my hope is that, by the time it needs to be posted, given the schedule, I will have finished it, and the next one. But that's hope speaking. At the moment I'm 4800 words in, out of what I estimate will end up around 8-9k. Possibly another 10k.
I still have two weeks to finish this. I'm just letting you know while I started out with a very significant leeway (I wrote a lot of this story before I posted the first chapter), some of it has been eaten away. I will do my best to keep to the schedule, but some of these chapters are proving harder to write than I was counting on.
Still, I consider it most likely that chapter 9 will come on schedule. If it doesn't, you can set Eve on me.
