I made a new year's resolution to post more regularly. Specifically, to post something every week until I finished my ongoing stories.
So how's that been going?
Pretty well, actually. More specifically, I got out two chapters of The Road to Serfdom, which I'm fairly satisfied about, and four chapters of Two Diaries. I'm finding Diaries a little easier to write at the moment (I've finished chapter 7 and am halfway through 8), so I expect I will be able to keep in compliance to my resolution for at least one more month, and hopefully by then I'll have one or two chapters of Road simmering. I can also say my estimate for Diaries having ten chapters was low. I managed to outline the remainder of it, and work out a satisfying ending for it, and there's still quite a bit left. Twenty chapters doesn't seem unlikely to me at the moment.
I've been wondering if Diaries is well classified as young adult. Other possibilities that come to mind would include coming of age, romance, or possibly BDSM (though I think it doesn't have enough of an edge for that). Given it deals with themes like bullying, confusion, and the ambiguities of friendship, it seemed like a good idea.
At any rate, I'm very happy with my writing flowing again with more regularity, and hopefully the people who enjoy my stories like that too.
