I've been much heartened by the response to Sparky's Dad, especially the response to the first three chapters which had no sex.
Thanks to everybody who wrote, whether by comment or by individual letter -- some of which caught typos.
As I said in the beginning, this story has 18 chapters. If you post a chapter of more than 55 K, the software splits it into sections.
I don't like that, so my chapters are less than 55 K in length and are what I consider logical divisions.
I generally send my stories in much earlier than they appear. They are currently scheduled to appear Monday through Friday. That means after 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the scheduled days.
The exception is Chapter 2 of serials. You can post any number of chapters to appear at the same time, but you cannot schedule a later chapter to appear on a later day until the serial exists -- i.e. until the first chapter has been posted. So, my chapter 1 was visible to the moderators at 8 on Monday; my chapter 2 was visible to the moderators when I posted it on Wednesday. That day, I posted half a dozen more chapters to appear on later days (visible to the moderators at 8 p.m. on those days). I sent the rest of the chapters for later posting a few days later.
While this is the first posting of Sparky's Dad anywhere, most of the other stories I've been posting recently have been posted previously on ASSM.
I pride myself on the diversity of my stories.
My longest story, Heart Ball has almost precisely 2000 times as many words as my shortest, Pharmacy.
