Okay, not really. But there may be SOME wetting of lures in this chapter. Also, if any of you have ever been to the location at the end of the chapter - my description is very, very accurate. (As in, I effectively found the blueprints.)
I've had someone respond via email that one of the reasons some people take umbrage (not Dolores Umbridge) at what happens in this story. Apparently, I've made things almost TOO realistic. Go figure.
Hopefully, this resolves ALL the confusion. The chapters post on SATURDAY, US Central Time. That means Sunday for you folks on the other side of the International Date Line.
Of course, I always thought the International Date Line was whether or not you'd go out with someone from another country. (Yes, I'll keep my day job.)
I seriously wonder sometimes about people. How many times do I have to say that ATH is on an ALTERNATE Earth? It's very close to ours, but it's NOT OUR EARTH. That means that someone mentioned may not have been the same person you think they are or exactly how they've acted here, due to the minor detail that we are shaped by our environment as we grow up and mature, and Cal's Earth just ISN'T OURS. You have no idea how something that I know happened courtesy of Shiva has snowballed over the centuries - or even since World War II. I've already had to delete one comment from someone that went over the top and didn't keep things civil. I do NOT have an issue if you disagree with me - even though it's MY story, not yours - but I for damned sure will not let you insult me or turn the comments section into a flame war. I shut that down in a previous book as well, when opinions started flaring and people got out of hand. If you are not interested in making a civil comment or responding in a civil way to an explanation, don't bother to comment.
Apparently people don't read story notes. Especially the last three words in the story description. 'Posts on Saturdays.' I've only been making blog posts on Thursdays and then posting on Saturdays for what, the last year and a half? I'll TRY to make sure that when I make next week's blog post that I specify that it'll post SATURDAY, like NORMAL! :)
Oh, and I turned voting on tonight. I told it that it was sexy, had wonderful eyes, and a cute smile. Yes, I have an odd sense of humor, why do you ask? I've had people tell me to turn off the light before, and I've said, "Light, you need to shave your hairy legs! We're through!"
Or at least Chapter 3. Lots of stuff happening here that in the grand scheme of things are minor, but in the life of Cal and his wives are big. Also, talk about destroying the bad drugs!
I have a milestone next Friday. The big 60. No, you don't a bonus chapter because of it - sorry. (Not.) I'm on Chapter 19 right now. If I don't have too many distractions (like packing to move into the new house), I MIGHT have it done by the end of January. No promises on that.
The house we started trying to get in May FINALLY got through probate and all the papers signed on Thursday of last week. I spent all day Friday and most of yesterday working on cleaning it out. Abandoned, foreclosure type of home, so with help, we filled up a 15 yard dumpster Friday, and a 20 yard dumpster yesterday.
Now comes the interior demolition, structural pillars (those are common here, due to settling), new roof, taking out trees, and all the fun stuff. Moving in should be about eight weeks out. That means packing is finally going to begin. Anyone got a pickup, trailer, and some teenagers (preferably from Star Home) I can borrow in January? :)
Oh, anyway, I put the prologue, preface, or whatever the heck you want to call it, and Chapter One of Book Four in the queue for Thursday morning. Thought that ought to put some smiles on people's faces. Happy Thanksgiving.
