In a few hours, I go in to have my cast removed.
Instead of trying to finish another story, I intend to append the last one with the chapters I've managed to voice type. They dovetail into PWI-2 readily.
Hopefully, my speed will pick up some when I can hold the device with the previously damaged hand.
Volunteer work will no longer be a drag on the speed anymore. I'm going back to full retirement and putzing around the shop.
The recovery took a turn for the worse. The bone in the pinky finger had a bad infection, one that risk spread to the rest of my hand.
I now have permanently lost the ability for normal typing after they removed the finger.
To the people who've sent well wishes, Thank you.
I will be back to voice type and touchpad type when I get my mind in the right place to do so, just as I am to send this message.
I can't give you an ETA on the next book.
Right now, I'm avoiding anything that stresses what's left of my right hand.
Back to writing, albeit with one hand. My right hand will be out of commission for another two months, and voice type is slower than the one finger type I had been doing.
Still, it's enough to get moving. Editing is being a particular pain in the ass with the voice type.
Currently I'm still using a smart phone touch screen to write with. Without my right hand, I have to use a cup phone holder to hold the phone. If anyone has a better idea, I'm definitely interested.
I'm down to one hand and voice type now. The latter is being a pain in the ass.
Right hand is a mass of screws, pins, and pain. It's not a conducive environment for creativity.
When I can, I'll get to PWI3, but at the moment, I sorely overestimated my ability to think clearly through pain. Meds keep the pain to a dull roar, but totally fuck up what's left of my ability to write. Therefore I can give no ETA on the story.
The last chapter is completed and out for review.
I've started on the third book already. Hopefully there won't be much if any delay on it.
