I had a lot of fun posting my coming of age story 'Best Friends and Lovers', along with its prequel, beginning in early April 2024. Even after it was completed, for a month afterwards people found it in the Recent Top Serials section and it got as high as Number 6. Now, sadly, it is being overtaken by new stories. I uploaded Chapter 39 of my book yesterday and didn't have time to check what I had done until today. I realised, to my horror, that I acidentally uploaded the wrong file (too many similarly named ones on my Desktop!). It contained the original ending of the book which I later added to. If you are unfortunate enough to have been reading the chapters near to their upload date, then please accept my apologies! Rather than modify Chapter 39 I am going to add a new Chapter 40 which will continue on exactly from where Chapter 39 stopped.
I was about a third of the way through posting the chapters of my full-length erotic romance novel, 'Best Friends and Lovers', when I was contacted by a couple of readers.They asked for back-story on some of the characters, which they felt was missing. I immediately understood why they were asking, because in the original full manuscript the youngsters were all much younger than the eighteen years of age that they are when the book begins in 1968. This led me to stop posting for a while and instead I published a new story which I have called 'Best Friends and Lovers - The Prequel' It covers a particulary pivotal few days in the summer of 1966, when the friends all get together and lots of interesting things happen.
While I have been posting 'The Prequel', the main novel has stopped in its tracks. I would like to apologise to anyone who wonders if they have wasted their time by reading as far as they have, only to be left high and dry. Now that 'The Prequel' is finished I am going to return to making regular updates to the novel. There are 39 chapters in all, so quite a way to go with the story.
If you haven't read the first part of the story before the main part, then can I encourage you to do so? I think that it will make the overall experience more enjoyable. Thanks for your patience and I hope that you find it worth the wait.
