I have just posted the third and final chapter of Reverend Rixton's discovery of bondage photography. It may look a premature end in some respects, but the tale is told and as always with me once I think a story is complete I see no reason to keep spinning out chapters.
I might do it if I am utterly in love with the main characters but in this case, they were okay if not special.
Closing after three chapters makes for a short(ish) story but there are always new avenues and ideas to explore. I hope to share of them with you soon, though right now I am about to embark on the good ship NaNoWriMo which I usually attempt to do each November, and have done now for 11 years.
For those of who who don't know, NaNoWriMo is a free-to-enter writing 'competition' (though without any prize but offering the satisfaction of completing the challenge) which requires an author to complete a 50,000 word novel inside the thirty days of November. Of course, 50,000 words would make for a very slim novel, but the National Novel Writing Month is a great exercise in focusing one's efforts and hitting a target. The target, incidentally, can be achieved with the pretty modest total of just 1,667 words a day and many participants hit the 50k mark inside ten days.
I think my best was inside eighteen days, and I went on that year to reach 70k words.
The question is then what you do with the effort when you have finished hammering the keyboard? There are a number of options, including self-publishing, offering it to an established publisher or even posting it here at SoL. There is also the point to be considered that in many ways NaNoWriMo is a 'first draft' and a lot of revision and editing goes on afterwards. But, if you can motivate oneself it is a good exercise for a writer to see if they can crack out a story under the pressure of time.
As I say, whatever I do may end up here, though not until December in all probability. As always, we shall see.
Some fifteen years ago I set out to write a series of stories about a now middle-aged woman known as Sarah Burden, telling of her erotic (and bondage-laden) adventures with teenage boys and girls. These were tales written without any prompting for the entertainment of a woman I know, and whose intelligence, honesty and support has been invaluable to me over the years.
I wrote these stories very much with her in mind and she has responded enthusiastically to every fictional event. She has now kindly approved their publication here.
The real woman behind all this works in the retail industry in England, is happily married with grown-up children and has a full, active social life.
While the stories I have written about Ms Burden and her desires and fulfillments are fiction, there are a few elements of truth woven in them though it would be unwise to reveal too much about her. As she has said to me, her colleagues and family and friends would be astonished at what turns her on, though I suppose that can be said of most of us.
It amuses us both however that there could well be people in her world who come across these tales and yet have no idea the well-dressed, articulate and efficient woman who works alongside them or attends the same social functions as her and her husband, is Sarah Burden on the inside.
While the real Sarah Burden is a law-abiding, upright citizen devoted to her family, it is fun for both her and me--and hopefully more readers now--to explore this fantasy world where youngsters who have just broken into adulthood and are troubled by the uncertainties of relationships and the understanding of others, find that there are women like Ms Burden who openly lend more than a helping hand.
I will, all being well, publish more of the tales in due course. For now, I await the lady to approve the next part of this series.
After a pause in the tale of Isabella: Humanhorse of Far Earth, our heroine has made a return. The latest chapter has been submitted.
Of late I have been pursuing a couple of story lines. While Love Lottery was a stand-alone tale (and strangely romantic in some ways, despite the abuse and sex) there is also the start of a longer series set in an alternate history of Europe in the mid-to-late 1940s when Germany had all but won WW2, putting a young English girl in danger--as well as the inevitable bondage.
I hadn't forgotten Isabella (how could I when the lady is close to my heart?) and it was time to resume her travels and travails. I also haven't forgotten both The ReVerse of Amy and The Invention of Bondage Photography. More of those stories too will see the light of day.
I am also developing (code for starting writing) a second case for Mrs Matilda Minerva to unravel in which the amateur detective (still with her dominant lesbian leanings to say the least) finds a mystery literally on her doorstep.
As much as I like Matilda and her ways, I accept that for the most part sex-and-detective tales is not something I have ever seen a lot: detectives may have dalliances in the course of solving crimes but being into bondage is more important to my lady. Quite when she will get round to finding who did what to a helpless woman and why will take some time to sort out...
I am not certain why--and I suppose here is the real mystery--why my muse went off over the summer on vacation and my writing rather dried up. The fact it is summer in the UK can't entirely be the cause as our summers are intermittently hot and wet so there has been opportunity to stay in and write.
No matter; I have posted a complete story in a genre I am not entirely familiar with, that of the detective. Of course, given my interest in the idea of willing slavery, domination/submission, lesbianism, bondage and old-fashioned women's underwear my tale entitled 'The Strange Case Of The Lost Girdle Model' leans heavily on those elements.
I am also quite pleased with the discovery of a lady to lead the investigation, one Matilda Millicent Minerva who perhaps typically of the traditional amateur detective is both observant and persistent, and who is ably assisted by her own personal, but younger, slave. Their d/s relationship is not entirely unusual where they live: behind the curtains and doors of the small town where all this takes place is a large number of women with similar interests to Mrs Minerva.
It was fun writing the tale, though in fairness it wasn't the longest thing I have ever written. I may well revisit the lady and her slave and give them another mystery to solve with no doubt more fun-and-perverted passions exposed in places most of polite society never knew about, though they may well have dreamed about them in quiet moments...
Perhaps too if my muse has returned I will get on with some other tales hanging fire for now. We shall see.
I am very aware that of late I have been absent from my SoL stories, but I am back with posting a new chapter of 'Invention of Bondage Photography'
The story has been neglected partly because I have been more occupied with the gradual lifting of what I regard as wholly unnecessary restrictions on life in the UK (governed as we are here by people who cannot or will not follow the rules they so happily impose on the rest of us) but also because I have chasing several other stories. At any given time I have several stories in various stages of development and completion--some of which may appear here one day but some of a non-erotic nature, which may go down other avenues of publication.
I am aware too that this way of working isn't great, but every so often I browse work in progress folder and am pleased to think a tale is in a way ripe for progressing further. Those random and scattered moments however occupy a lot of time.
Anyway, I hope those who have been following my tale of Victorian bondage photography will enjoy this latest chapter which takes a perhaps unexpected development: the good vicar has a side of him one might not expect but as always, people are complex creatures.
Best wishes to all.
