I have been reading stories on this site for several years and on another site for over a decade. I always wanted to try my hand at writing and posting a story but I had not tried to write since a creative writing class in college 30 years ago so was hesitant.
I published a very short story to another site a few days ago and it was fairly well received but there was also some valid criticism which has caused me to re-edit the story before posting it here. I uploaded The General’s Wife to both websites on 06/03 assuming they would both take a few days to post. Well, that was wrong.
I also did not realize that comments were disabled when I posted the story. I have turned them on. My stance is that I will not disable voting or comments, nor will I delete comments on any story I post. This has caused some friction with some authors who routinely delete comment they think or negative. I don’t understand that attitude. If you’re going to believe the good reviews, you have to believe the bad ones. I will make sure comments are enabled from now on.
Also, it’s pretty obvious I need an editor. There are a lot of good parts to this story but it is weak in just as many. I’ve reached out on the other site for an editor without luck. If anyone is an experienced editor with published stories and interested in editing or being a beta reader, please let me know. I have several stories that are in process plus several more that I have plotted in my head. On the other site they will all be posted in the Loving Wives category.
BTW, I can’t write sex scenes. I can write a very detailed fight scene but I just feel stupid writing about sex. The brief occurrence in TGW is about as much as you can expect from me. You will not be rubbing one out to one of my stories. I say that, but then again Rule 34 exists for a reason.
