Posting Revised Chapters for The Eighth Warden, Book 1

Posted at

I've started posting updated and revised chapters for The Eighth Warden Book 1. So far, I've updated Chapters 1 to 10.

The changes I've made are primarily to improve the flow and to clean up some awkward wording. There were also a few typos and a couple of very minor inconsistencies that I wanted to fix. And I changed Corec's equipment slightly. He now has a long knife for situations where a greatsword would be too awkward, and I clarified that his scabbard is detachable (it's not possible to draw a greatsword from a scabbard that's attached to your back or waist--your arms aren't long enough).

The Eighth Warden Book 2, Posting Now

I've started posting Book 2 of The Eighth Warden. Corec and the gang head north, continuing on their intertwined quests.

I just thought I should let you know in case any of you are like me, and tend to check the "Updates" page more often than the "New Stories" page.

New Story - The Eighth Warden

I've recently posted the first four chapters of a new project, The Eighth Warden.

The story is set up as an epic high-fantasy serial. It's technically a harem fantasy, but I'm trying to avoid some tropes that have been done well enough by other authors. While sex happens within the story, I'm not currently planning on writing explicit scenes -- I'd like to focus my writing on the storyline itself.

I've planned out the over-arching storyline and the main characters, but I'll see where the writing takes me as I fill in the blanks. Sometimes even your own characters can surprise you.

Silver Street Strip Club - Story Structure

In case anyone's wondering, Silver Street Strip Club was originally designed as an episodic serial. It covers a three-year timeline, so, like a TV show, it focuses on important episodes in the characters' lives -- their relationships, decisions, and interesting events. It doesn't spend a lot of time on the day-to-day details, except when those details are important to a scene.

The first few chapters are mostly world-building, to put the context of the story in place. The pace will slow down once Callie reaches the club. She is the character who is new to this world, so the reader will be introduced to a lot of things through her eyes. To her, everything will be an important episode until she's more familiar with her new life.

Chapter 3

Chapter 3 is a little shorter than average, so I decided to post it early. Enjoy!
