Stranger in the Dark, parts 5 and 6 just went to the queue. I have no patience and I'm tired of waiting to post this. There it is. Done. Complete. Finished. Enjoy.
I've got several new stories in progress, but nothing else finished at this time. I've been working pretty steadily, about 2,000 words a night after I get home from work. Hopefully, I'll have another story ready to go in a month or so.
Thanks for reading.
Friday
Dragging this out for three weeks is silly. I posted part 3 today. The last three parts will go up next week, probably on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Part 6 is the last part. The story is finished.
I hope you're enjoying it, even though I'm not getting much feedback.
Please note, chapter 3 contains some violence. It's not too bad, but I put the Violent and Non-cons codes on it to warn readers.

A few weeks ago, I stumbled across this quote from Stephen King:
"A short story is a different thing altogether-a short story is like a quick kiss in the dark from a stranger."
I copied the quote into my journal and a light-bulb went off in my head. A very short story roared through my brain about the lights going out and girl getting kissed in the dark by a stranger.
When I got home from work that night, I sat down and wrote the story. It was around 1,500 words and I thought (at the time) it was done.
But, no. No, it was not. The girl wanted to know who kissed her. She wanted him to kiss her again. She wouldn't shut up in my head.
So I wrote another part. And another. And another. She still didn't know who the stranger was and demanded some resolution.
And that's how my new story "Stranger in the Dark" came into being. It's still considered a short story, but it's somewhere between 15,000 and 16,000 words now. It's in six parts and completely written. I'll be posting two parts each week for the next three weeks.
You can expect to see the first part tomorrow (Wednesday, February 21st). I hope you enjoy your time in the dark with Tessa. I know I did.
Friday
I finally finished part one of my new story, "The Holocene Event." There will be five parts all together for this one novel, so I'm about 20% done. But, it's over 16,000 words at this point and I'm so excited to be making progress.
I don't plan to post any of it to SOL until the entire story is complete. I hate it when I find a great story and it ends up dying off without being completed. I will never do that, so I will finish the whole novel before I start posting.
Have a great night,
Friday
I know it's been a while, boys and girls. But, I'm still kicking around. Sort of. I'm getting that feeling, that itch, to start writing again. I spent most of this week re-reading all the stories I have stored away, started but not finished. Some of them are calling to me, and I think it might be time to start working again.
Thank you to all the people who are still reading my stories, who email me and ask when I will write again. It's so wonderful to get those messages. I haven't started yet, but I'm in the prep stage. So hopefully I'll have something new for you soon.
I had to shut down my old email, too many spammers. But, I've got my new email linked here, and I'm thinking about starting a community on Google+ so I can start interacting again. I know it's been a long time. Life happens. But hopefully, I'll be here again soon. I've missed you all.
