I have decided to not continue this story or writing in general. I did this because I enjoyed it and recently the joy I experienced from writing faded. The criticism I experienced (some were constructive, and I do appreciate those, others were just ugly and insulting, you can thank those for my not continuing) took the joy out of writing a story that I was writing for myself. My imagination works whether I put it to paper or not. I finished the story in my head and have moved on. I will say that the kidnappers that were sent were caught and turned into female sea elves and released on the streets. The fight went as expected, and the Captain was humiliated. Other experiments were discovered and they tried to oust Vic. The program was eventually shut down but the current experiments were left to fend for themselves, with their powers intact, but no further support from the aliens. Vic's pet alien remained by his side, along with all the others. He eventually gained enough worshipers that he was a true God, though he did have problems from other Gods as he went along. Multiple Pantheons were formed, some good, some evil, and some, like Vic's, were pretty neutral overall. Sorry for leaving you like this, but you know my reasons now.
I won't say Never, but it isn't looking like anytime soon.
and have started writing again. No estimate on when I will have enough to post, and I can't promise too much on the length of 'chapters', but I should have something by next weekend.
I had a plan, the characters didn't like it. We went off script and I didn't like it. We are now in negotiations to see if we can come to some sort of compromise, but talks are slow.
On another note, I am having some personal issues that make writing, and thus negotiations, troublesome at the moment.
I know I write in a fairly minimalistic way. I want my word counts up, but not at the expense of being boring. The problem is that I can see myself being boring with my way of storytelling. I don't see the reasons to detail the minutia of day-to-day living, but I know I need to do some of that to build up the characters and their interpersonal relationships. I ask that you stick with me, give me feedback on what works for you and what I need to work on. I am new to this, at least in the sense that the last story I wrote before SOL was in High School, and I never finished that one. To give a time frame, I am 54 and graduated in 1984. That's a lot of downtime.
On a different note, Yes the MC is OP. It is intentional, remember, he isn't the only 'Project' on this world in this time period. He is going to get settled in, and then news of him will spread until it eventually reaches the other 'projects'. That will be when things pick up in the 'conflicts' part of the story. Vic is kind of a Deadpool, Lobo, Punisher, Ghost Rider anti-hero. He isn't evil, though some of his actions may make him appear to be so. He kills those who wish him or his harm. He is a 'No Mercy' kind of guy and expects his followers to be the same. For now, he just has his 7 girls, but once the Catman God appears, things will pick up.
That is a bit of where I am going with the story. There will be sex, but I have had problems putting words to actions in the bedroom unless it deals with BDSM, so don't expect too much bedroom romance.
Again, constructive feedback is appreciated, complaints without ideas for resolutions will be treated as the whining they are. If you can't at least give an idea of how you would like my story to go that is different from your complaint, then go write your own.
That would make it hard to cook. Thanks to kiaser for pointing it out to me.
