I have just uploaded Midsummer eve and feel that interested readers deserve a little additional information. I'm not a very prolific writer, but I have had this story on my hard drive for almost a year now.
The story is a bit unusual in that it contains incest. I don't mind it, but that fetish doesn't interest me. It just doesn't tickle my fancy. No matter how much I revised and rewrote, the story wouldn't come together.
I'm not 100% content, but it is either publish or delete.
As a writer, I like to consider the why of things? Why does a character choose to do the things they do.
In that sense, I thought of this story as complete. Emma did some things most people would never do, and I tried to explain why she chose to do so.
Based on the feedback I can see that, as a writer, I've left the main character in an unstable and untenable situation, and seen from the perspective of a positive character arc this calls for a second part.
The question then becomes, what is the natural progression that leads Emma to a stable life.
