I've realised that this story will last beyond Christmss Day. Rather than forgetting to post, what with our family chaos at that time, I will try to post every day from now on so as to finish ealier. I like to give each each chapter a final proof reading, but I may not have time for that.
Not posted lately due to ill health. No energy for new ideas so I reconditioned this unposted old one. Like most of my stuff it's about ordinary folk who probably won't do what readers want! If you don't like it, stop reading it: there's enough suffering in the world!!
Thanks to a wonderful hospital team I survived my operation and thought I'd post a bit of nonsense to celebrate. Hope those who can stand the slowness and length will enjoy it.
Thanks to a serious illness, I have to undergo a major operation in the near future and want to get two stories posted beforehand. I don't think they're my best, but people who like really slowly developing stories might like them. If I recover, there may be more, but it will be a while. You may find my proof reading is a little under par.
Can I warn folk that this latest tale just submitted is very long and slow in development all through. It's pure fiction, but I infiltrate some of my reminiscences from the later 60s, call it self-indulgent if you like (it is!).
So you'll find a pub with women's knickers pinned to the ceiling, the first iron bridge ever built, and people who ring church bells to arcane mathematical principles, among other references. And none are essential to the story! If this is going to annoy you, please don't read it and upset yourself. Stories are supposed to be fun and some people love stories that just trundle along! This is for them.
