First of all I want to thank all the people that have pre-ordered the book and hopefully you are enjoying it or did enjoy it if you are a marathon reader. The proceeds never touch my hands but go to a family with two working parents with 4 children that have seen both parents out of work by doctors orders for months. They are both back to work now but every bit helps. The generosity made her cry and touched me deeply.
This is part four of the series and it ended up differently than what I intended when I started but I don't feel like there will be a part 5 so this is the end for what I see. This is told from the point of view of Johnny the boy that looked up to Britt and looked up to him as a second father or best friend. Britt will make appearances but it is a look at what Britt accomplished and how he affected others around him. The story is stand alone but makes references back to the original series and the characters will be familiar with new ones added.
I hope you all enjoy the story. Thanks for reading. As I mentioned in a previous blog post, I will be posting once a week. I will be posting on Saturdays because I am normally home and at my personal computer at that time.
I want to thank The Old Fart for editing and Steve Smith for proof reading. They both did a fantastic job and when I look back to my first post when I tried to do it all myself, I am very embarrassed at what I had to offer.
Thanks to all my loyal readers and if you are new, I would suggest reading the first 3 books if you have the time.
Smoke.
I posted a couple months ago that I would be posting a new book in this series. I have finished the writing and editing. Proof reading is underway but should be done in the next week.
This is is a story written by Johnny (Jack) another character in the book. It won't just repeat the story from a different point of view. It is a stand alone story but uses some of the same characters. Reading the other three books isn't required to read this story but some of the references will be lost if you don't. I will try to cover as much as needed in the prologue.
I have always completed writing a story before I posted it even if some editing was still needed. My editor has been sick so I wanted to make sure that my new editor and I were done before I started posting. The new book is 24 chapters and just over 170k words.
I've always posted daily in the past but would like to raise some funds for a couple people in need and have worked with my publisher to make that available. Those that have contacted me will be contacted when The book is finished later this week or next.
I just made a change to the last chapter of Hindsight Book 3 so that they didn't contradict each other as much. Whether you read the book in weekly installments or get the entire book as a reward for your donation to a couple needy families, I hope that you enjoy the story.
On a side note, I had started another book and have about 70k words written. I had much more but had a problem with the computer and lost 40 pages and my muse for that story. I have what I did salvage saved and will try to pick it up later. I do have another original story that has been working its way through my brain and hope to start writing it after the first of the year.
Nick the college years is not out of the question but the story seems to keep changing in my mind so it will be a while before I write it down and post it. Sorry for those that keep looking for the next book about Nick.
Thanks for the kind words and encouragement during my hiatus.

The good news is that I finished my next book. Book 4 in the Hindsight 20/20 series. It ended up about 175k words. I gave it to my editor about a month or so ago hoping to have it ready for posting by the end of the year.
I spoke with my editor this morning and he is having some health issues and hasn't even started working on the editing. I don't have a backup editor but am about 50k words into a new original story that I've started. I don't want to stop writing but may have to stop to edit the completed book or wait until I finish and then edit them both.
Either way the editing has been pushed back. Sorry to those of you that have emailed about the next installment. I just hope my editor Image Green gets well soon.

Had someone email me to update the status of my writing so here it is.
I am writing. My muse took me back to my original series Hindsight 20/20. Britt isn't the mane character in this book but one of the other characters steps up to tell their story. I'm at 140,000 words so far and don't know if it will end up being one, two or three books. I've also decided to take a different approach to posting the story.
I've always completed a book before I start posting and then have posted a chapter a day. I'm going to follow the lead of another author on this site and post a chapter a week but offer the complete book for a small fee.
This is to help me raise some money for some people that I know that could use some financial help. None of the proceeds will go to me or my family.
I have moved around some of my activities outside of work and the words seem to be flowing. Nick might be next or at least that's the way that I'm leaning.
I started this Hindsight 20/20 book 4 over the July 4th holiday weekend but don't know when I'll finish it.
Sorry for the long drought. Been working and keeping very busy.
Regards,
Smoke
I was asked by one of my readers for a blog post about my status. I am happy to report that work is going great. I am keeping very busy and have to look at my schedule every morning to determine where I am and where I should be. I have nine trips scheduled before Thanksgiving and some are out of the country. The bad news is that with the way I write, I need the time to focus and immerse myself in the story.
I have been reading some which always gets me wanting to write something. I am starting to create ideas, and stories in my head. I just need some time to commit to typing out what I have created and don't see much of that this year at least. I do want to write and have already decided to re-write the last chapter or two of Nick and then send him to college. I have a new story that I am crafting as well.
Thanks for all of you that read and support my efforts. Sorry I didn't win any awards but thanks for the nominations. Hope this helps. I am not dead and not retired so I work to support my family so that one day I can retire and write whenever I want.
