Ciara's Got Issues Chapter 1 is in the queue

Posted at Updated:

So, yeah, I have been writing, these past few years, and my wife says I should share this one with you all.

Ciara (pronounced Kee-ra) is fucked up. Broken, even. Can Sion fix her?

New chapters posted as they are ready. 17 chapters + epilogue

9 years later...

Remember when I said Real Life(tm) had kicked my ass, back in 2013?

I shoulda known Murphy was listening.

Since then, I've suffered two strokes (bp 230/180, now under control with meds), a house fire, and other minor travails, too numerous to list.

And Muse Erato (look her up) decided to scamper off and whisper in someone else's ear.

In the house fire, (total loss) I lose all my computers, and thus all my logins, bookmarks, story files, blah blah blah, along with all my stories that only existed on paper. 3 cartons of legal pads. All gone.

At least no one was hurt in the fire, which was caused by a lightning strike. Even the dogs escaped injury. Recovery has been slow, though. The insurance paid off the mortgage, but nothing else.

I'm not even sure, any more, which story I was working on at the time, but whatever it was, it's gone.

Muse finally found me, again. She must have been hanging out at the lot the house used to stand on. I still own it though it is only a vegetable garden, now. Can't afford to build...

Still, she's back, whispering, and I just recently started a new tale, and have around 38K words, in the cloud, this time, so that I can recover quicker, if I do receive another trophy in the shape of a cat's ass... I hope I don't, though. I have no mantle to put it on.

At least I regained access to this account, here, today, so when (not if) I do have something to post, I can.

One thing I promise, I will never go the patreon route. The only payment I ask for is feedback. I get that some Authors want to be paid for their work, in real money, or at least folding fiat.

I'm just Scribbler, though. Send me a note, saying you liked "Kelly," or "Taking," or "Open." Hell, send me a note cursing me out for not being able to finish "Y'all."

That's the only payment I ask, for my scribbles.

May the Lord keep and bless each and every one of you.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

A few years ago, I was RIF'ed from what I thought was the job I'd retire from.

I was happy, at that job, and had time to write, too.
The words flowed, for me, mainly because I was happy.

Two years later, the only work I can find is at less than half the rate I'd been earning.

I'm not nearly as happy, and the words don't seem to flow much.

I'm about 200K words into a new story, but you won't see it, until I'm done. I learned THAT lesson with "Y'all Ain't Never."

I had "Y'all..." completed, ON PAPER, but, the manuscript has since wandered away. In other words, even though the first chapter is posted, I've lost the remainder of the story. Someday, I'll have to re-visit it, and write it again, realizing that there is no way in Hel, that it will be the same story.

In the mean time, I get a few words down, on my new work, every few days. Not nearly my previous rate, but, as I said, The words just don't seem to flow, like they did.

I'm thinking of posting a chapter, that is an extended flashback in my current effort. The chapter is done, but I don't know if I want to post it, in the near future, or if I should wait until the main story is complete.

My main fan (my darling wife) is also of two minds, about this. Currently we are both leaning towards waiting until the main story is completed, and off to editing.

Yeah... Sucks to be me.

Update for those that give a damn

I re-posted the corrected chapter 1 of Y'all, and chapter 2 is in the hands of my proofreader. Then it goes to my wife for editorial approval, and then, hopefully Thursday or Friday, it will be posted.

Chapters 3 through 6 are on paper, but I'm not very happy with 6. I think I'll be changing that one, as I just can't get the scene to feel real.

Of course, with my two finger typing style, this will take some time. But I seem to have a lot of that, just now.
