I've just posted the first two stories in a series I call Tales From the Roadhouse. The Roadhouse is a combination bar/restaurant outside of town. It's known for bikers, rednecks and (interestingly) lesbians.
It's run by a former Special Forces commando named Lucy. The first two stories provide the background on how Lucy got into all of this, and what the Roadhouse is all about.
There are several more stories, which I'll post in the next few weeks.
Hope you enjoy them.
I've just slipped Chapter 26 into the queue.
There will actually be a run of new chapters over the next few weeks. I wrote a number of scenes quite a while ago, and they've been waiting for the rest of the story to catch up (I don't write in a linear fashion). In any event, the story has now reached the point wherein those scenes fit, so I can start posting them.
Enjoy.
Well, at least a joking reference. In my previous blog entry I asked, "When is a parsec a unit of time?"
The question was a reference to Han Solo's boast about the Millennium Falcon: "It's the ship that made the Kessel run in less than twelve parsecs." This makes a parsec sound like a unit of time, and thus my question. The answer to my question, sort of, would then be: "When Han Solo says it is."
I've known what a parsec is for a very long time, but a lot of people decided that I needed to be educated. Thanks for that, but given the previous Star Wars references, I'm surprised by how many people took it so seriously.
I guess I'll have to watch my pop culture references in future.
I guess I shouldn't have made any Star Wars jokes in my previous entry...
I updated the latest chapter in The Day My Life Changed in order to correct a typo. However, the reposted version somehow got kind of scrambled in the process. I've asked the moderator to deal with the issue, so it should get cleaned up pretty soon.
Now, when is a parsec a unit of time?
A little more free time, a few more words, and a new chapter in The Day My Life Changed gets finished and uploaded. It's in the queue, so we just have to wait for the universe to unfold as it should.
The force is strong with this one...
