I've gotten many emails that have asked if this is really my first story. It definitely is. Of course I did write some short stories for English class. My last one of those was long ago in College.
So thanks for your support and emails.

I must admit to a past bias on reading stories that are published online. I am a voracious reader and prefer finished stories. That is, I don't usually read stories that are "in progress."
There are a few reasons for this. Chief among them is there are a few stories that just end up being unfinished forever. I don't like to be left hanging indefinitely. Other times I was really into the story and I found the pauses waiting for new chapters to be agonizing.
Perhaps at heart I am an impatient person. I know I've missed out on some great stories that essentially have been going on for years as the author prefers to just keep adding chapters rather than break it up into separate stories as part of a serial.
At the same time I get to read gems like the Hawk and the Chipmunk by the Scot, straight through. Which I am presently enjoying very much.
Since I started writing Blockade Runner, I've found that have been more open to looking at other writer's current ongoing projects. I think this is a good thing.
Do you know of any REALLY good unending stories that I should be willing to pick up even though they are not yet finished? Send me your thoughts.
Thanks for reading,
Lortay
I've gotten quite a few emails. All positive so far, some very constructive in their critique. All very much appreciated. You know how it says that your feedback is our only payment? I never really gave it much thought until I posted this story. It sure is true.
Our other payment is watching the SOL score. I probably check it a little too often after posting a chapter. I had one anonymous email that said, "I don't know how this story is only getting a 7.6 or whatever it has. It's really good. I'd guess only reason that it is that low is there's no chapter long sex scene, but interesting story."
I'd hope that isn't the reason, but alas, it could be. I guess I write the kind of story I would like to read. There are plenty of good stroke stories out on SOL. I wanted this one to be Science Fiction, more "space opera."
I do have a fairly good TPA of 8.8.9. But the overall score is actually a relative score to the other stories posted in the same time period. Oh well, no sense obsessing. It's only a score and it will be what it will be.
Don't get me wrong. These are not complaints. Merely observations. I am truly blessed that I have received such positve feedback. Thanks again!

Well, here goes. I've thought about writing a story for SOL for quite awhile now. I've enjoyed many of the stories posted here. Not just the adult ones either. I like the stories that have plots and characters.
I hope my modest efforts here can measure up.
Thanks to all of you who have sent encouraging emails. It really is a motivator to write more.
