Alive and at the keyboard...

An update for those still in the wings:

I'm back at the keyboard working the story. As I fleshed out the backstory and filled in the blanks, things have grown a lot in order to tell the tale properly and completely.

I had always envisioned Rawn having friends from back home that would help him. While working on the cosmology required to support what would happen throughout the tale, I realized that this was far greater than the story of just one man. Thus it has become three novels, and a fourth story that will be presented in episodic novellas rather than chapters and I will place them all into a shared universe called The Restoration Cycle. Here's what to expect in the coming months:

The Restoration Cycle

1.)Project: Morning Sunrise - The journals of Michael Satko

2.)No Wishes

3.)Love is Hell

4.)Storm & Stone

Some of you might recognize #3 as my very first offering. Yup, Rayden and Cerina are back. I've reworked the story to make it more palatable. I'll admit that when I first started the story I was quite pissy with organized religion in general and realized that this was evident in the story after I had completed the second chapter. That was not where I wanted to go with it, so I pulled it. It's back, it won't be PC, but this time around it's not a Seth-Rogen-Preacher style slap in the face to Christianity which is something I had not intended for the first attempt.

For those who might be concerned by the order of the listings here: don't be. While that is the chronological order of the stories, I have structured the tale in such a way that I will be able to provide you with chapters from all four on a regular basis. You won't be starved for Storm & Stone while you wade through the new stuff and catch up.

Other writings are planned for the future, but at this time I will focus on the core story contained within those four tales. Also, there's spoilers in the other titles and we just can't have that can we?

Thanks for your patience everyone! I hope to begin posting soon! Stay tuned!

My apologies...

You have been heard, and I am grateful that you enjoyed the story. I've been trying to get things done and get back to posting, but life has gotten in the way and for once, it's a good thing. I have a move coming up, also, as the missus and I have decided to part ways after almost 15 years. I've also been given an opportunity to open a business that I've been fighting to put together on my own for quite a while. I'll give more details once everything starts, I'm superstitious and afraid I'll jinx it if I say too much right now. This will free up tons of time for me to get back to the keyboard and set my characters free on the page again.

If you can see fit to bear with me a little while longer, the story is coming back and so am I. That's a promise. Now that Grok is out of the box, he won't be silenced.

Thanks for the love,

The revisions are taking a bit of time. Re-imagining these scenes is a lot more difficult than it was to imagine them the first time. Word count of the first chapter is also going to be a bit larger. What I posted here is a little over 13k words. At the rate I'm going, it should be in the neighborhood of about 20k words.

Thank you all again for your comments and critiques, they've been a huge help.

A big thank you to all the comments and criticisms. As I referenced the first chapter while working on chapter 2, I have come to understand the mistakes I made. I got about a third of the way into chapter 2 and realized that they're going to be very difficult to fix if I do not do it before I get more chapters out. Going to have to restructure and rewrite Chapter 1 a little bit or the story is going to fall apart in editing down the road.

Don't worry, there won't be drastic changes made to the characters, just how some of the events unfold ( I did somehow manage to squeeze a hell of a lot of talking into half a day, given the fighting that took place as well), the timing and content of some of the convos ( didn't realize I sounded like a political pitchman until I read it after reading one of the commenters, but afterward, I can see where I came across that way. Arawn is very discontent for those reasons but an info dump isn't the best way to go about making the point), and be more descriptive in general. It will also most likely incorporate what I've written for chapter 2, since that was going to pick up the next morning, and the new chapter 1 will likely encompass at least 2 days, if not more depending on how things roll out. So, expect a bigger first chapter, as well.

Thank you so much for all your feedback, you are all helping me get my head in the game right.

I'm speaking with an editor that seems eager to take on my project. I have seen a sample of his work and like what he brings to the table. I'll share more when I know. Fixing chapter 1 will take a little time away from chapter 2, but from the looks of things, not much.

Also, for those who are curious about the pace I intend to set... at this point I cannot say until I see how things work with the editor. It might speed things up or slow them down.

Thank you all for your support.
