Hello there!
Just a quick little update here for those who are following my work.
I've had some trouble with my main computer in the form of one of those fake anti-viral program things. I did manage to be rid of it, however it left me feeling somewhat detached from that computer for a while. Between this and the Christmas Rush, I haven't had a lot of time to dedicate towards writing and editing, but I have committed as much time as possible to it.
New chapters of Flight of Destiny are forthcoming, and I'm still working on new material for Fear the Ripper.
Warm wishes, and happy reading.
First, my apologies for not posting anything yesterday. I've just woken up, am sipping that vital mug of coffee, and have hit submit on another chapter of Flight of Destiny.
Yesterday was hectic for me with work. By the time I was free to sit down and be alone with my thoughts, I was too exhausted to coherently phrase them in the form of prose. However, I did write rather many notes, so the better ideas will (hopefully) not go to waste.
Winter has been creeping upon us in my little spot of the world, however this morning it's chosen to announce itself with a forceful bang...we have a blizzard! So, whilst I'm safely stuck inside I'll be writing, editing, and baking bread most of the day.
Without much further ramble, I'll get on with working on my stories. Warm wishes of full bellies and happy reading to all.
It's been roughly a week since I joined StoriesOnline.net. In that time, I've read some fantastic work by others, been motivated to edit a manuscript I wrote a few years back while still in High School, and also, to start in on a new writing venture - Fear the Ripper.
Flight of Destiny began as a project for a Writing course I took in High School. It was completed within about six months worth of spare time, whenever I could sneak it. Akhenaten and Ksunamun's story became my ultimate fairytale, a merger of one of my favourite historical subjects (Ancient Egypt) and the type of romance that leaves me feeling happy, the kind that has ever been, and probably always will be, a part of my dreams for my own future.
As I sit back and edit the chapters one by one, looking back at my younger self through the pages that I've written, I can measure my own personal growth as both a writer, and as a person. While I still have a long way to go (I am only 21, heh) I think I've discovered an important fact - that while writing was always an aspiration of mine, it's not the far fetched of one. I still enjoy it, and I'm sure I always will.
I want to thank everyone that has taken the time to email me with words of guidance, and of praise. I never imagined that my first ever attempt at a novel length story would be met with such warm responses! It's been my absolute pleasure to reply to these emails.
I'm looking forward to editing and posting more of Flight of Destiny in the coming weeks, as well as working on Fear the Ripper when time permits. My hope is that my words will be a source of entertainment, dear readers, and my deepest ambition at this point in time is to improve my skills in this field.
I welcome any questions, comments, and so forth you may have via email - that's how I'm most likely to see them.
Happy reading!
