It's based on one of the most familiar, yet rarely acnowledged, BBW characters in popular culture-- Hilda, a daffy BBW redhead from the country, painted in dozens of images by Duane Bryers, and still published to this day by the Brown & Bigelow Co. on calendars and the like.
