Christmas Cheer is Finished!

Posted at

I've just submitted the last chapter of Christmas Cheer for posting, so it should be up soon.

I've known for a while how the story ended; it was just a matter of getting it there. I hope you all like how it turned out!

Along the way, I've discovered that posting serial stories by the seat of my pants may not be for me. There was a long stretch where life took off on me and I left you guys hanging, and I really don't want to do that again! So, maybe finish the story before I start posting it next time... ;>

But you just never know--I guess it depends on what inspiration strikes.

Many, many thanks to everyone who's stuck with me, and special thanks to those who've left ratings and sent comments. It really means a lot to me!

Christmas Cheer Chapter 8 submitted

I've just added Chapter 8 to the queue to be posted, so hopefully it will go up some time tonight.

I know I dropped the ball on this one. I have no excuse.

Life kind of took over my life, and writing got shoved to the back burner. I'm terribly sorry about it, and I appreciate anyone who hung in there with me. I hope it was worth waiting for!

There's one more chapter which brings all the pieces together. I'm not 100% sure when I'll be able to post it, but I plan to work on it in the coming week.

I'm not sure what's in store after that. Non-SOL writing projects are keeping me pretty busy, but I'd like to do some short pieces, maybe even some flash fiction, to post here. The feedback and encouragement I get here means a lot to me!

So enjoy Chapter 8 and I'll try to get Chapter 9 up before it becomes timely again... ;)

Christmas Cheer Chapter 7 Posted (at last...)

I hope you like it. Things take a turn for the not-so-good in this chapter, but I still have confidence that love will prevail in the end. And I do promise to finish this story before *next* Christmas.

I promise, I haven't just been slacking off on writing. We've gotten a new housemate, at least temporarily, I've started school about three hours from home for skills and vocational training, and I've foolishly agreed to read and critique novels for two different people in one of my non-SOL critique groups. on top of everything else, I can't access SOL while at school, which means I can only read (and post) when I'm home on weekends--alond with umpty-gazillion other things I have to squeeze into that time frame.

So I'm not slacking, just a little snowed under. And I'm sure things will get easier as I adapt to the new routine. If I don't post for a while, or miss responding to an email, I apologize in advance. (And remember, I can't respond if you send your comment anonymously. I don't mind getting them, just can't respond.)

In the meantime, be well and look forward to spring and warm weather--unless you're in the southern hemisphere, in which case, enjoy the cooling weather and look forward to fall!

Best,
Jess

New (Old) Story: Homecoming

I actually wrote this story in mid-2013, a few months after I lost my own eyesight. I was puttering around, washing dishes or something in the kitchen, and I thought, "What would happen to a kinky person who lost his or her eyesight?" which led to some thought about how kinky play could be adapted for a blind submissive.

Then another thought struck me: "What if the partner who lost his or her eyesight was the dominant member of the couple? How would that play out? Suddenly, the first few lines of the story sprang to mind, and I was off and running.

Perhaps I should add, as an aside, that the story is not autobiographical, though Anne's blindness is informed by my own experience. To the best of my ability, the things she does or is able to do are things I did or was able to do around three months after I came home from the hospital, blind and a little dazed by my experience and the medications I was then taking. All the other stuff is fiction--her story, not mine.

The story's been floating around in my documents folder for a while now, as I tried to figure out what to do with it, and finally I decided to post it here as a Valentine's Day present to my SOL friends. I do hope you'll give it a try, and I hope you'll like it.

As always, I'd love to hear what you think.

Did you like it? Do the characters ring true to you? Most important, would you like to read more of Anne and Elliot's story, as she heals and adapts to her blindness and they work the (ahem) kinks out of their changed relationship?

Chapter 6 of Christmas Cheer is up

Every time I think I'm going to get through a chapter without a sex scene, Mike and Lynne surprise me. It was a fun chapter to write, but for some reason it was hard to nail down the details.

It doesn't help that we have company, so the past week or two have been spent in cleaning, rearranging, sorting and, finally, visiting. It's been great, but not much writing has gotten done. I hope to be a bit more productive over the next few weeks.

This little story has become important to me, and I want to see it through to the end.

So enjoy, and I'd love to hear your comments.
