I was looking at the relative downloads from SOL and ASSTR. In one sense this is not a good comparison because SOL is the cumulative of over 10 years and ASSTR is the cumulative for 2011. Nevertheless, I was surprised that when I rank both the is essentially NO relationship between what is downloaded on onsite and the other.
For example, the top 5 on SOL are

A Woman who Loves Men
Dad

On ASSTR they are
Sherry's Mom
A Cop Too Far

Another One Of Those Stories
Nor do I see anything systematic about what kinds of stories are downloaded more on one site than the other. It's not that SOL readers likes MC or Fdom is more than ASSTR folks,
