I wrote Ketchup over thirty years ago. Even got up the courage to submit it to Galaxy magazine.
Received a hand-written rejection letter and gave up.
Didn't know at the time that this, unlike a printed rejection, meant that the editor (Jim Baen) intended it as encouragement, to maybe revise the story and resubmit it. Ah, well.
