Since my last update, my son has graduated from High School, my Mom has visited, and now the In-laws are visiting...
I know what I want to do in ALL of my stories, but I'm just having a hard time getting started...sigh.
My better half set me a couple tasks. I'm putting up a stud wall in the garage and insulating it. I built one arbor for our climbing rose, and now have to do a much larger and more extensive one for our wisteria (dang thing climbed all the way up the downspout to the eaves in one year!).
Really wish I could post the pictures we take of our gardens, we have almost 250 different varieties of perennial and a few annual flowers, and planted a vegetable garden as well. We got cucumbers, peppers, chilis, melons, squash, zucchini, sweet corn, tomatos (5 heirloom varieties), rhubarb, peas, carrots, spinnach, lettuce, kale, and beans. Nothing quite like fresh picked vegetables that you've grown.
Every year, we take thousands of photos, then pick the best and make calendars with the best shots. The first year we made 5 and gave a few to family as christmas gifts. Last year, our third year doing the calendars, we actually had three seperate calendars, and had a dozen of each printed.
My health has been spotty at best. Still, excuses are like...well you know. :) I will try to get some writing done, in between projects and the vagaries of my health. Send me money! Then I could push the writing up in my priorities.
However, as always, I do the best when I just let the story flow. Since, whenever the flow stops, I start thinking of the thousands of other ways I might have gone with. Toughest thing for me, by far, is to say, 'yeah...I KNOW it isn't pefect...but it will have to do...'.
Same reason I NEVER can edit my own stuff. I can't really even proofread it! I end up wanting to throw everything away and start over. Thanks go to Monbade, Deenara, Tenderloin, and any other that has helped to spot my errors. Thanks to the readers that point out the mistakes we ALL let slip through.
I tried to update all my stories at one time several months ago, and I got a couple of responses that read something like this:
"Damn it! If I had noticed how long it had been since you started this thing...I NEVER WOULD HAVE STARTED IT!!!"
Sadly, my fragile hold on my muse was disrupted. Remember folks...nobody PAYS me for this...
OTOH, I do get enjoyment out of writing, and in retrospect, it is silliness indeed to allow (somewhat valid) critism of my recent productivity to derail my efforts completely. Maybe it was that the critism was inarguable?
If you have enjoyed my stories, please, please, please, send me a bit of encouragement. I obviously need it. :P
About to leave on a weeklong stay with the Inlaws. Wanted to get something ready to post beforehand, but it was apparently not to be.
In my defense, my son was visiting, and with the holidays, it was easy to get distracted. :)
Hopefully, I'll be posting shortly into the new year.
