I find myself dropping off reading stories that run l-o-n-g. I know it's the author's prerogative, but just have to wonder about these 3,000 and 4,000+ long stories. I quit reading Arlene and Jeff quite some time ago, and am about to give up on Flight of the Code Monkey (Now at 4,929). Just wondering what other people's opinions are on this. Around 1,000 is a comfortable limit for me. Should authors then break them into separate stories?
