I've had a few recent peeks at this story which was written some time ago. Sorry, but I guess readers still don't like the original ending of this one. I don't know if that accounts for all of the low score or not but, I still like the story as I first wrote it.
I don't know how chapter seven got posted twice in the same story. I intended to post two stories at once: chapter 6 and chapter 7. Also, I've received a lot of criticism about my chapter order. For those who've not caught on yet, there are two brothers with different stories. The chapters ALTERNATE their stories. Ch 1 is Jason, ch 2 Jesse, ch 3 Jason, ch 4 Jesse and so on as the story goes forward through several years.
This is the first posting of a new and long story. The two Owens brothers from Georgia end up fighting for the Confederate States of America in the War Between the States. Jesse, the elder, is invalided out several months before the end of the war. Post war, Jase starts home to Georgia to find his older brother. The quest becomes a long trail of adventure from Appomattox to Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, and he states/territories between the Mississippi and Comencheria, land of the Comanche Indians.
There are twenty-nine chapters to follow this first one. I especially enjoyed the research required to make the background of this project historically accurate. After all, I really am a retired history teacher.
Come on, people, I know the Patti story has at least one stereotype, the big dick, but it's all just FANTASY. Nit picking about whether tab A will fit into slot B is just that--nit picking. Just enjoy the fantasy. Jeeze Louise.
Nikki: Teaching More Than English and Patty: Coming to Bat have recently been posted. Both are stroke stories with little or no redeeming value. They are pure fantasy. Have fun reading.
