1. Decades of understory overgrowth turn fire ecology into catastrophic burn-overs.
2. Tens of millions of 'honest burglars squatting in our living room, the ones who aren't breaking our stuff or stealing it although they are running up the water bill and eating the groceries.
= 7 year labor investment towards (veted) citizenship, the "Green" time versus money version of the Golden Trump 5 million card, clearing overgrowth and normalizing Federal Lands and Parks to prevent total loss burns.
I hear there are whole battalions of healthy unregulated alien youngsters of recruitment age available, with nothing else wholesome to occupy themselves with.
I have had several wishes for longer chapter length, but let me tell you a story. I have had several chapters get swallowed by screen freeze, requiring hard shut-down to get out of, and rescued several more from like fate by waiting it out, in one case getting a blue screen of death that had the resurection clause "push any key" and a chapter rose from the dead.
I have gotten frusturated, but if I had more invested, I would not want to reconstruct the lost chapters, and I have been known to allow stories to fall into oblivion, such as We the Wall of us. I let that one get too silly, and divided my characters apart, losing all cohesiveness.
Also, I will have you know that this sick ailing magic typing box I am using right now, my back-up plan, is the same one I mention as making clicking noised on shutdown, and I can't re-open any word-pad documents I now create. The old ones work fine, but not anything I save now. I have to write, online spell-check, and post before I get a freeze screen.
Trust me, better I keep to short, replaceable chapters.
