Buck Harrison is a drifting cowhand looking for a place where he could settle and be happy. Leaving the ranch after his mother passed on, there was no place for him near the family on the Home Ranch, and his older brothers inherited all the properties. He did carry a bit of coin in his saddlebag though. A month of traveling saw him coming down out of the hills, seeing a Ranch house in the valley.

Two truck drivers team up to deliver across country a load of airplane parts to San Diego. Both have baggage. This turns out to be the last long haul trip for both. With little adjustment, both find happiness.

The woman he had asked to marry cheated on him so he went on to find happiness with another. That is until her death. While traveling in a foreign country he is kidnapped by a woman. By this time the first woman had come back into his life. He finds happiness with one of them

Ed is getting over the death of his wife. He meets a woman and her girl child, both who have been abused. Within a short time period he meets another woman who is struggling to make a home for her autistic son. All four individuals soon love Ed / (Reviews)

The second part has the same stand alone quality. It tells the story of the long valley where Ferris Town draws characters from both. Some characters speak in dialect. Ignore the spelling. Fishing brings about a revelation one day about his wife. He takes it from there and never hurrying, deals with it, bringing his life to a happier time. She was so lucky!
