Heartlands
My personal High Fantasy universe that most original fictions I write are set in. The continent of Auria surrounds the Great Rift at its heart, a massive tear in the continental shelf caused by an ancient magical tear in the fabric of reality. From that tear, abberant magical energy seeped into the world, driving civilizations only to the fringes of the continent. The center of the continent thus became a vast, untamed magical wilderness known as the Heartlands, populated only by small tribes of sorcerors or servants of Divine entities. In Auria, anyone can discover the power of magic by learning sorcery, but it is not an intellectual pursuit; rather, it is something that must be discovered for oneself.
