This story is written in three distinct parts. The first two parts of the story deal with the lives of the two main characters up to the point where they are eventually brought together by circumstance, the third part covers the events that happen after that introduction.
In this story a soldier from a different time and place is taken prisoner and then later purchased by some followers of a goddess to be ritually sacrificed in her name in a bid to appease her anger.
