I would recommend an obscure indie Canadian band called The Bonaduces. Punk music from Winnipeg in the late 90s. If that's not to your taste Circle C/Copyright is an excellent now defunct rock band that I have a tangential relationship with. Chixdiggit! is just plain fun pop punk. Nomeansno and the Hanson Brothers side project are long standing and great bands that never broke through. Chris Page (variously: The Stand GT, The Glen Nevous Retraction, Chris Page, Camp Radio) is a real treasure.
If you like country the Corb Lund Band might be for you. For the folkies in the audience I'll point out Cuff The Duke and Elliot BROOD.
The Deadly Snakes. Joel Plaskett. The Chucky Danger Band. The Weakerthans. The New Pornographers. Matt Mays. The Marble Index. The Paperbacks. The Parkdale Hookers. Plumtree. Red Shag Carpet. The Supers. Stars. The Swallows. Tokyo Police Club. Tricky Woo. Two Hours Traffic. The Weekend. Whitey Houston (Not Whitney).
Ok. That's probably enough indie Canadian bands that most of you of never heard of, barring a couple exceptions (Neko Case plays in The New Pornographers and my guess is that they're the highest profile of the above).
This is the end of the page. You can reread the page. Read my story. Or go somewhere else.
Or, possibly, leave me feedback. That would be greatly appreciated.
