He met Gail hiking on vacation when he was 21 they were married two weeks later.
Gail Brakes 50 years old, retired school teacher. She suffered a heart attack and died when they watched their son Andrew being murdered.
Mike Sampson, 59 years old, retired Colonel of the United States Air force, flew BUFFs (B-52s) helped Walter after Gail died and Andrew was murdered.

Frigate Commandant
Captain Sebastian Black 36 year old former Naval Captain in the English Navy commands the Commandant, the San Cristobel, nine schooners, five brigantines, and nine captured merchant ships at his command. He also has over eighteen hundred pirates under his command. They have established a base and have heavily fortified it with guns taken from the merchant ships, and several batteries of twenty-four pounders and thirty-two pounders that were ship's cargo. He has a foundry and is building 32 pound guns for the three Diadème class 74-gun ships of the line that he has under construction. He has pacified the island he has taken over and assimilated the inhabitants into his army and navy. He is short of weapons and horses for his calvary.
He eventually plans to build a dozen of the 74s and twenty of the commandant frigates.
Master's mate John Avery of the Frigate Commandant, becomes the new leader of the pirates and turns them from evil to building a sea empire.
