"What? I don't know how to do this," Holly griped. "I'm not a techie."

"Holly, no one knows how to do it," Elaine replied. "But you have the best rapport with the thing! Maybe you can get it to tell you!"

Holly made a moue with her mouth and frowned at the Golden Goddess. What had she gotten herself into anyway? She and Haley had helped rescue Elaine and her kids from that exploding space platform some untold light years from here, though she still didn't understand why the platform had been exploding in the first place or why Elaine and her kids had even been there. She understood how they got there – that eerie machine had sent them, just like it had enabled them to be rescued.

She looked across the room at her twin, her mind still whirling with negative emotion and counter-intention; enough so that Haley couldn't even mind-speak with her right now. Haley did raise one eyebrow at her though, as if to ask, 'What gives, sis?' And to tell the truth, Holly really didn't know. It wasn't like she'd been left out of the loop as far as mankind's survival went; she knew the sun would nova, she knew the fragile, inverted world surrounding her (and everyone else) was at risk if they remained in this dying solar system.

'So ... what's the problem?'

Holly didn't know where the thought had come from, though the touch of the mind that had originated it felt familiar. Not someone in the room, which was currently her sister, Elaine and Jacob, Prince Jason's father. In fact, Jacob had a lot of children roaming throughout New Eden, both full human and half-hybrid.

Jeff! Bard Geoffrey!

'Oh, so you do remember me after all, ' Jeff chortled into her mind. 'Come see me, why don't you?'

"I have to go," Holly spouted at the others who were waiting for her to make up her mind. She vanished.

"What the hell?" Jacob growled, not used to being frustrated by some indecisive dame. He'd been hoping for a threesome with Elaine and both twins, his frustration growing all day as he tried to work with them. He was mechanically inclined and had already secured the alien Translocator in the 'Northern Engine Room' of New Eden (there also was a 'Southern Engine Room', needed so that the artificial little planetoid wouldn't tear in half when they moved it) and his view up the legs of (pick either twin) and her lovely bare snatch – 'What? Underwear? You're kidding, right? Three words: Way! Too! Scratchy!' – had Elaine's first and oldest husband hard and uncomfortable.

Haley closed her eyes for a few seconds to locate her twin, then raised her head and told them, "She went to see Bard Geoffrey. She thinks he can help her."

"Help her what?" Elaine growled. Then she closed her eyes and dreamwalked into the Royal Courtroom, where Bard Geoffrey was supposed to be. He wasn't there, and Alana was a bit annoyed that he'd suddenly left, especially with the long line of people still waiting to have their cases heard. 'Well, hell!' Then, to Alana, 'Need some help?'

'Enchi! Please!'

Elaine smirked, then vanished from the Engine Room. The distraction of helping people resolve their somewhat lesser problems would help relieve the Golden Goddess' current frustrations, plus, she could feel how aroused her first husband was, and she didn't feel like fucking right now (something to do with this morning's worship service, perhaps).

Now, Haley and Jacob stood, left behind and alone in the room with only each other. Haley wasn't used to her twin being so upset that she got shut out. That was depressing, and Haley didn't like being depressed. What she liked was fun and games; getting chased by wild beasts, getting shot at by the guys at the Phoenix Preserve, and getting, well...

Elaine's number one husband had been her target all along, but she'd hoped that she and Haley would share Jacob with Elaine in celebration of their successful installation of that alien device so that New Eden's salvation would be assured. She locked eyes with Jacob as he turned to leave the room in disgust at their failure to complete this stupid installation.

With a smile, Haley shrugged and chirped, "Hey..." Jacob turned back toward her just in time to see Haley's dress flash into ash and fall away, leaving her completely naked. "Wanna fuck?"

Jacob grinned and turned toward her. Nothing relieved frustration better than a sweet, hot piece of tail, and Phoenix girls were the hottest of all. Besides, one was better than the none he'd have if he left, though not as exciting as the three he'd planned on...

"So, show me what's so fascinating about these fairies Elaine told me about," Alana grinned as Sy lifted her sarong off over her head. "It's sex that attracts them, right?"

Frank smiled as he gazed at his oldest friend and lover in the world being undressed by her regal husband.
