Jake and Lucinda stared at each other from a short distance. Jake felt his breath go short and his heart pounding. She looked more beautiful than ever. It made her realize that life was too short and you should just get over your anger and move on. Jake felt so relived. "Thank goodness. I'm glad she was so understanding. I was worried about how she would take it."

Jake sighed. "Yes. But my father does not know. He passed away as soon as I got back from being with you. He'd had a heart attack."
