Chapter 15

Kathy and Mike laughed when Mike said he had bought a dozen condoms. They glanced at the house to make sure their parents or their sister didn't come out.

"A dozen? Wow, I guess you want to fuck as bad as I do," Kathy said.

Mike grinned and nodded his head. "I want to do it with you as often as we can, but I think we should be careful. I'm not sure how Mom and Dad really feel about it. They said they understood, but they might get pissed anyway."

Joanne came outside and walked over to her two oldest children. Kathy and Mike squirmed on the seat while they waited to hear what their mom had to say.

"Kathy, I want you to come with me. We have an errand to run," Joanne said.

Glancing at her brother, Kathy stood up and followed her mom into the house. Joanne told Kathy to go out to the car and followed her. Once they were in the car, Joanne pulled out of the driveway.

"Where are we going, Mom?" Kathy asked.

"We're going to the clinic," Joanne said.

"Why, are you sick?"

Joanne chuckled and said, "No I'm fine, Kathy. We're going to get you some medicine so you don't get sick—morning sickness to be precise."

Kathy didn't understand what her mom was talking about when she mentioned morning sickness. She furrowed her brow, causing her mom to laugh when Joanne saw the confused look on her daughter's face.

"Honey, I'm getting you birth control pills. I'm not ready to be a grandma," Joanne said.

Kathy gasped and then covered her blushing face with both hands. Joanne laughed, reached across the seat and put her hand on Kathy's arm.

"When is your period due?" Joanne said.

"Um, in a day or two I think. Why do you want to know?" Kathy said.

"You should start taking the pill after your period. You have to remember to take them everyday and you should take them at the same time of day. I suggest you take them in the morning with your vitamins," Joanne said.

Joanne pulled into the clinic. She made the appointment for her daughter earlier in the day. The doctor gave Kathy an examination and prescribed birth control pills for her. He explained how to take the pills and told her she would be safe after she began taking them after her period. The doctor told Kathy about the possible side effects and the risk smoking adds. Kathy listened and nodded her head.

Kathy and Joanne left the clinic and headed home. Kathy sat silently and stared out the window. Joanne pulled into the pharmacy to have the prescription filled. While they waited, Joanne and Kathy picked up a few items.

"Are you okay with me getting you put on the pill, Kathy?" Joanne asked as she drove away from the pharmacy.

"I guess so. It's kind of weird knowing you know," Kathy said.

"Honey, don't forget I was young too. I know how hard it is for you right now. As long as you don't do anything you don't want to do, you'll be fine. Just because you're taking the pill doesn't mean you have to have sex. If you do, you won't have to worry about becoming pregnant," Joanne said.

"Mom, why didn't you and Dad yell at Mike and me?"

"Would it have changed anything?" Joanne replied.

Kathy shook her head.

"I didn't think so. If someone, your grandparents, had told me I couldn't be with your father, I would have run away from home so we could be together. I loved my brother more than anything in the world and there was nothing that could change it," Joanne said.

"Did you date other boys too?" Kathy asked.

"Only once. I went out with a boy one time and that was it. Your father went out with one girl too. We decided we loved each other and didn't want anyone else. Things were different for us. There weren't other kids near the farm for us to hang around. We had friends at school, but didn't see them after school or during the summer.

"There was a lot of work to do on the farm and your father and I had chores. We worked in the morning before school and again after school."

"Do you miss being on the farm?" Kathy asked.

"Sometimes I do. That was a wonderful time of my life, even with the work. I'd like to go back there someday and see it."

Joanne pulled in the drive and parked the car. She and Kathy went in the house and told everyone they were back. Rich and Mike sat in the living room watching television. Rich glanced at Joanne, smiling when she winked. Kathy sat on the couch near her brother. She was anxious to tell him about the trip to the doctors.

At nine thirty, Joanne told Mike and Kathy it was time for bed. They told their parents goodnight and went up to their rooms. In the hallway, they stopped to talk. Kathy put her arms around her brother and gave him a kiss.

"Mom took me to the clinic and got birth control pills for me," Kathy said with a giggle.

"I know. Dad told me what you guys were doing," Mike replied. "We talked while you were gone. Dad wanted to make sure I wasn't trying to make you do something you didn't want to do."

"You aren't making me do anything I don't want, Mike."

"I know. That's what I told him." Mike moved his hands to his sister's butt and squeezed her. "Are you going to come to my room tonight?"

Kathy giggled and nodded her head. "I'll be there just as soon as Mom and Dad are asleep."

Mike and Kathy kissed and groped each other for a few moments. They finally separated and went to their rooms. Mandy sat up on her bed when her sister came in the room.

"Where did you and Mom go?" Mandy said.

"We went to the clinic. I have birth control pills now," Kathy said.

"Really? That's so cool. Now you can screw whenever you want to. I want to get the pill too. Do you think mom will let me?" Mandy said.

"I don't think so, not until you're older. Maybe Mom will get them for you when you're sixteen like me."

"You're only fifteen, Kathy!" Mandy said.

"I'll be sixteen soon."

"So what?" Mandy said as she cocked her head to one side.

"So, I'm still older than you are," Kathy said.

"Maybe, but I've done more than you have. I want to have sex—real sex with a boy. If Mom won't get me birth control I'll just do it with out it," Mandy said as she huffed.

"No, Mandy, don't talk like that. You have to wait. You don't want to get pregnant do you?"

Mandy shook her head. "I don't want a baby, but I want to know what its like. Maybe Tommy can get some rubbers and then we can do it."

Kathy moved closer to her sister. She put her arms around Mandy and held her tightly. "You don't really want to do it—do you?"

Mandy hugged Kathy and shook her head. "Not really, but then I do. I just know I would love it. You said you wished you had waited. Did you really mean it?"

Kathy smiled as she shook her head. "I'm glad Mike and I did it. It hurt at first, but then it felt wonderful. Even so, you should wait. There are a lot of things you can do without going all the way."

"I know there is. Maybe you and Mike will let me watch you sometime," Mandy said with a giggle.

Kathy thought for a moment. She remembered how hot watching her brother with Megan was and nodded her head. "Maybe we will. I'll talk to Mike about it."

Mandy and Kathy changed into sleep shirts. They climbed into their beds and then Kathy shut off the light next to her bed. She tried to stay awake so she could meet Mike, but fell asleep.

The next morning Kathy woke up to the buzzing of the alarm. She got out of bed and went into the bathroom. Mandy also woke up. She sat on her bed waiting for her sister to return.

The two girls showered and dressed for school. At the breakfast table, Kathy and Mike shared smiles.

"What happened last night?" Mike asked as he walked toward school with his sister.

"I fell asleep. I'm sorry," Kathy said.

"Don't worry about it, Kathy. Please don't feel as if you have to do anything with me." Mike put his hand on her back and rubbed it up and down a few times.

"Okay, but I wanted to. Oh, Mandy said she wants to watch us sometime," Kathy said with a giggle.

"Hmmm, that could be interesting. Are you going to start going out with Ted?" Mike said.

"Not as a steady boyfriend. I like him, but I don't want to get serious with him or any other boy," Kathy replied.

Mike chuckled and said, "Not even me?"

Kathy shrugged her shoulders. "I think I want to cool it for a few days. Everything is happening too fast."

"Whatever you want, Babe," Mike said.

"I hope what you and Megan did doesn't mess things up between her and Phil. I'll talk to her today," Kathy said.

Kathy found Megan at her locker. She pulled her friend aside so they could talk.

"Are you still going with Phil, Megan?" Kathy said.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" Megan said.

"I guess because of what happened between you and Mike."

Megan giggled. "I'm dating Phil, but we're not going steady. We go out with other people. I don't want to be tied down right now. Phil and I talked about it and we both agree."

"Okay. I just didn't want you to get into trouble." Kathy moved closer to Megan. "My mom took me to the clinic. I have birth controls now."

"That's cool. Now you won't have to worry when you have sex," Megan said.

"I know. Rubbers are such a pain. I like it better without them, but I don't want to end up knocked up. I let Mike put it in me without one and it was wonderful," Kathy said with a giggle.

"Danny and I talked about having sex. I told him I want him to screw me. He's going to get some condoms today."

"When are you going to do it?" Kathy asked.

Megan shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know yet. I'm still kind of scared."

Kathy nodded. The bell rang and the two girls headed for their class rooms. At lunch, Kathy and Megan sat with Ted and Mike. Phil came over to the table and sat with them. Mike and Kathy shared a few glances.

After school Kathy met her brother in the parking lot. They walked home together and talked about lunch.

"Megan said she isn't going steady with Phil. I don't think you have anything to worry about," Kathy said to Mike.

"What do you mean? I thought they were going steady," Mike said.

"Megan told me she and Phil see other people when they want to. She said she doesn't want to feel tied down. I don't either," Kathy said.

Mike grabbed Kathy's butt as she stepped into the house. He laughed and then said, "Maybe I'll tie you down and have my way with you."
