Chapter 12

Melissa and Paul came in that evening. They had enjoyed their holiday, too. The four of us got ready for our classes that would start in the morning.

This winter quarter was a slow drag. At least this time, our schedules meshed better and we had more time together. We wouldn’t be traveling for a couple of weeks and all four of us went into our Sunday school though Paul would be teaching this morning. As usual, the hormones were in full flower. It was an enjoyable group and Julian seemed to be completely included as part of the group. Logan was with Rachel and they looked happy together. They all went to the single middle school in the county.

After the main service, we went to our apartment and our wives prepared lunch with our help. We were sent to set the table. We did that and then retired to the living room to watch TV and stay out of the way.

I had bought a lottery ticket and had won ten dollars! It was pure accident because Rudolph said that he had nothing to do with it. We finished the week and welcomed Larry with Suzie-Q for the weekend. It was a fun time as we watched them become closer. Saturday night, we went with them to a fraternity party. Both my wife and my sister wore slacks. They were also hit on by many guys. Being two gorgeous girls, of course, they received attention. Karen was polite but firm that she was gloriously happy in her marriage. Suzie-Q said that Larry made her happy and he was the only “frat” guy for her.

We returned to the apartment late. Suzie-Q kept Larry in her room for the night. In the morning, they came into the kitchen for coffee and breakfast. They were asked no questions about the night’s activities and offered no explanations. After lunch, Larry left for his college and Suzie-Q sat with us for a little while.

Finally, she said, “You two know that Larry and I are getting married this summer. Bradley, we are intimate. I hope that isn’t a problem for you. We didn’t start until after we resolved our emotional issues with each other. I think the party was a final test for him since his girl was really cheating on him with many. I think he believed in us but he wanted to see how I would react to being hit upon by guys he knew. I didn’t think about it like that until later because I realized that I seemed to have the opportunity to get away with cheating on him if I had wanted or was interested in doing that. Some of those guys were very good looking. I think they had success with other guys’ girls who came to party.”

Karen smiled, “I had the feeling that a number of them were testing the water, too. I saw a few girls hit on Brad. He didn’t see me watch him fend them off. It’s nice to know that our feelings are real when tested even though I have never doubted Brad. After all, he has fended off advances when he has been wearing red.”
