A River of Crystal Light is a beautifully contrived, lovely little story, that I came across in 'cmsix's' favourites.

Technically, it's pretty good, blissfully free of all the usual homophones, and the general illiteracy that bedevils many of the stories on SoL, and is a story that consists mostly of two part dialogue. The plot is an old faithful, interstellar colonization, but 'Dan Smeet' gives it an intriguing and original twist that I found both moving and amusing.

The story is too short for me to say much more about it, except to say that anyone who has been a parent will empathize. There's no sex at all, but don't let that put you off, if you don't read this story you will be missing out on a very enjoyable read. I will definitely be adding it to my library.

Read, and enjoy!colonization
