This is a classic from 2007. I've observed as a writer on SOL once a story leaves the "Recently Updated" queue it doesn't get much traction or notice - at least none of mine.
Which is a real pity. That means either people only think the latest stories are worth reading, they read the thousands of wonderful stories in the past or they do not know about them.
I want to make you aware of this one by Punky Girl. It's 12 chapters at a beefy 160,000 words - so a nice medium length story. I've always marveled at this story and wish there were more like it. The author paints a world before cell phones when you had to go in stores to rent DVD/VHS tapes. The guy who works there with the speech tick is a nice touch because I think everyone has met someone just like this guy. He's always got some 'deal' he wants to do to 'help you out' or he 'knows a guy' who can get you free cable or whatever.
Punky Girl is a coming of age story - about a girl who is naive at first, and in time grows to embrace her sexuality. That's really the root of it. It is a story i've told in variations over the years myself, and in the style of classic authors like Vulgus. The author herself cites it was inspired by a classic UseNet story "Farm Girl" by Dark Dreamer. I hope that it inspires more stories like it.
I do not think you can put this story down in the middle. You may try but you won't stop thinking about it. There are so many scenes in the story that are sort of show-stopping and while at times it gets pretty intense - it always feels organic to the setting and her life.
It's got some heavy themes, including religion, incest, etc but the codes are all there. The story is rich, the characters nicely developed, and technically it's flawless as far as I could tell. As long as you like stories like this - the appeal is a 10.

I first became familiar with Punky Girls writing on another writing site and immediately fell in love with some of her shorter stories. When I came to SOL two of the first stories I downloaded were Trailer Trash Teen and Suburban Girl. I have just finished Suburban Girl and I have two words for it...Holy Crap! This story quite possibly has one of the most "perfect submissives" I have ever read about. Her name is Becky and she has just turned 13. Punky writes this character with such subtlety that it's almost impossible not to want to reach through the pages and dominate the little girl. Her raw sensuality, which she is only mildly aware of, oozes out of her and affects everyone she comes in contact with.
As far as the other characters that surround Becky, they are done just as flawless. The heroes aren't perfect and the villains aren't completely evil.
In her synopsis she says Suburban Girl was inspired by the classic "Farm Girl" by Dark Dreamer. I read "Farm Girl" and it was an enjoyable story but in this readers opinion Punky Girls "Suburban Girl" far surpasses it in realism, the balance of sex and emotion and the overall scope. In other words, the student (Punky Girl) is now the master!
Another thing Punky does that most authors have difficulty with is to use religion in a completely unbiased fashion. The specter the Catholic religion holds for the protagonist keeps the reader on edge without insulting anyone's beliefs, or lack thereof.
I really do not like giving straight 10's for a story but no matter how hard I tried I could find nothing negative or lacking in this story (except that I never wanted it to end.) Next on my list, Trailer Trash Teen.
