This is an interesting plotline in the Swarm Cycle universe that makes for a pretty quick read that's easily worth the time. There are definitely some issues with the grammar within the story and it would benefit greatly from an editor combing over it to help sort out of some sentence structure. There are also some parts in the story that bring up something that's already been mentioned previously in the story and is known to the characters again, but with the characters acting as if it is new information or at times contradict the previous information without anything shifting that would cause it to do so.

Overall it's a solid story that's worth a read even if you aren't familiar with the Swarm Cycle universe it provides a background that catches the reader up (though there are some references you may not understand regarding Average Joes).

If you have any intresest in the Swarm series, this is one to read.

The Bad:
Um.... It ends abruptly?

The Good:
The characters are likable where they are supposed to be, and entirely annoying where jerkiness is the order of the day. The plot is a logical progression, and covers wide range of situations and challenges, though it has interludes of calmness and flashes of one-off problems. Details are important later, and I didn't notice any logical flaws from one section to another. Even the abrupt ending is there to set up the sequel, and is in no way in an awkward place with loose ends left untied.

The Last Word:
Like the intro said, if you have ever read even the basics of the Swarm series and liked it, this is the best story not written by the founder that I've read In fact, it's better than some of his (sorry, TH). In fact, if you've never read a Swarm Cycle story before, I'd advise you to read the firs tew that lay out the basic information, and then absolutely read this It's that good.

PS: If the site owner wanted my real opinion on Appeal to Reviewer, he'd have a dripdown that went to 11. Why not just make it go to 10 and make ten more awesome? Because it should go to eleven.
