HAL was a computer in 2001, transliterated from IBM by moving each letter backward, I becoming H, etc. There is nothing computational about this story, except perhaps counting the number of young ladies who engage in a variety of sexual activities with the hero. If any story deserves the "much sex" tag, this is the one.
I tend not to disclose a lot of the activities in the stories I review. Spoilers are to be avoided. Let me just say the tags attached to this story may not do it justice. There wouldn't be space in this review to provide spoilers for half the action.
Lets do some numbers. The plot is a solid 7, or B. There are a few twists and turns, some of it takes place outside England. Technical is an 8, the equivalent of an A, excellent. There was at least one case where "the" was not the word the author wanted. Spell Check doesn't correct what was typed for what was intended.
Appeal to reviewer is a 7, good, like a B. I recommend reading the story. The good part is all the sex, the bad part is that all the sex sometimes seems too much. Except for the hero, the characters don't have much time to get established in the reader's mind or heart.
This is the only complete story by the author with more than 100k. A typical HAL story is around 20k, although some are twice that and some half that size. I recommend reading other stories by this author. His other over 100k story is being added to, I looked at some of it and it too is well worth reading, especially if you are a train buff.
