1: Samantha's Secret by Don Lockwood Frank has lots of very good stories, but this one is one of my favorites, mostly for the sheer gutsiness of the hero.
2: Scout by Warlord This is a guilty pleasure; Edward Demarest is just too cocky and just too lucky to be true. But not everything has to be realistic. Warning: it's incomplete, and there's a cliff-hanger ending.
