I have received more emails regarding this story, my first in some time, than I think I have for almost any story since Bob's Great Adventure. I have reposted the corrections to chapter 2, so maybe I can relax a little and try to get back to writing my next story. I have a new series called A Taylor Tales Story. This was supposed to be the second story in the series but it was finished first. These stories all have a central theme of people who all work at CRS. I have two more in work right now, one is "CRS" and the second is "All Alone". I think i have a couple more in this vein. Anyway, Thanks for reading. BR
Well I guess that this is one story I should have left alone and never posted. From the response that I have been getting and a 5.27 rating out of a possible 10 is very disappointing. Especially since it is the only new story posted today. Wow just when you think that people like your work and you get this kind of reception. Oh well I’ll maybe have another one next week.
I did the unforgivable; I posted an earlier version of this story that did not include the edits of my honored and faithful editor Pepere. I received an email from him excusing himself as an editor for me from now on. I am now lost is a sea of grammar nightmares. I do have two other primary editors and I guess they will have to take up the slack. So from now on my prose may not be as pretty or as readable as it has been in the past. I’m sorry to say that it was entirely my fault and please don’t blame Pepere for my mistakes.
I got a lot of static about the ending, and how the wife never got corroboration of the innocence of the husband. Damn, didn’t the guy read where the wife was sitting in the breakfast area when Pam said to sit when she talked to her? Pam convinced her that Rob wasn’t cheating and to prove it she and he went to the hotel. Yeah she accepted his claim of innocence after that.
Okay, not on to the fact he just accepted her back. Good God when you love someone as much as Rob loved Sharon just to be back together was enough, yea, there would be some animosity, but right now all he wanted was his family back. I guess some people cannot understand real life and emotion. Hey, what the hell, I wrote for me not others, if they want to nitpick, who am I to tell them no, but I just will not listen to them anymore.
My editor told me that what I tried to add was not necessary and the story was fine the way it was. Him I trust, not the flaming critics that can’t write a lick. I never see their name as an author for anything, but sure can criticize those of us that do.
Okay, I’m done with my tirade now. Thanks for all the nice e-mails telling me to continue writing. BR
It's funny I get good marks and no response, maybe that's a good thing. I'm not getting any flamers tell me to forget writing and how bad I did on this one. Who cares, I wrote it and I liked to do it. My critics can take a flying leap at a rolling pastry if they don't like the story.
