Soon to be Step-Siblings?

At the beginning of their senior year in high school a guy and girl who had been best friends since preschool learn that her dad and his mom are getting married. All their lives they had been friends and had never thought of having sex with one another. That is until they hear about the upcoming marriage. With the news feelings that they've been keeping hidden inside emerge. So they finally decide to have sex with one another as many times as they can before the wedding. The mother decided to make her soon to be daughter-in-law the maid of honor. She takes the girl with her to try on dresses. The girl is surprised when the mom even has her try on wedding dresses. And is told to pick out her favorite. So they both take home a wedding dress. The dad makes the soon to be son-in-law his best man. As the day of the wedding comes closer the two young lovers come to realize they love one another but have to put their sexual life to an end and they're sad that they can't live as man and wife. The son is at the wedding and in place of the best man. As soon as the wedding music starts the dad quickly switches places with him and the son is confused at first. Then he looks back and sees his mother walking out in Light blue. His best friend's favorite color. And eventually he sees his best friend walking out in a wedding dress. The man he was preparing himself to call dad soon leans in and says surprise. After he marries his best friend his Mom and her Dad had told them that they had noticed how they looked at one another and they knew that the two young lovers didn't even realize their own feelings for one another. And because they had been planning on going to college in different ends of the country the mom and dad had set up the fake wedding for themselves and waited for the true feelings to come out. They almost called the thing off because it took so long for the two young people to realize their feelings and become lovers. The new bride said that the wedding came just in time because she was now pregnant.

I confess that I like plausible scenarios and this looks a just a little too far out there for my tastes.

Here's an idea that I remember having as a teenager, when two of my classmates (male and female) ended up under the same roof when their parents married. Watching TV, we all thought the Brady Bunch should have been shagging like rabbits.

So the scenario is a guy, let's say 15 years old. Doesn't have a girlfriend but has his eye on a few, waiting to get the courage. There's one that he's familiar with, talks to in class, and is rather cute. He's spent some time fapping away to a mental image of her under him.

Then one day her mom takes a job in the same company with his dad and catches the old man's eye. It isn't until the old folks are really getting serious (more than dating) that the kids realize who each other's parent is. Then those parents decide to merge the families by moving in together.

This girl who the kid has been fantasizing about, even though she wasn't aware of it and doesn't see him yet as anything special - is living in his house. Showering in his bathroom. Sleeping in a room down the hall.

Temptation at it's finest. How do you woo the girl who lives under the same roof and eats at the same dinner table?

If HBO did remake/reinterpretation of it, they potentially would be.

"Reality" is the children would be more likely to have a love/hate thing going on with one another, with "love" in a sexual way becoming increasingly likely as the potential number of pairings increase.

Of course, it may not be mutual, which moves into creepy territory should one of the siblings turn into an "inept suitor" scenario. ("My step-sibling is stalking me.")

Of course more "platonic" outcomes obviously happen in such "blended households" in reality. Although I'd be highly surprised to discover that even those outcomes didn't have a prolonged phase of sexual tension to work through for the involved teens.

Giving it more thought, I have her as being attractive but bitchy. He's hot for her body but doesn't like her that much personally, and she doesn't much of him at all - and then they find themselves under the same roof. Eventually, they may be banging each other at home while playing it cool at school.

Of course, then you also simply have those my age, who remember that at 15 she ran away from home, and ended up working the streets in Hollywood as a teen prostitute.

For those to young to know, that is a reference to a 1976 movie Eve Plumb made called "Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Runaway". That movie seemed to run every few weeks as a late night movie back in the day.

I am one of those who is old enough to know, but didn't know. I watched a lot of movies, but not all movies and not that one. thanks for filling in the blank.

Two sets of parents met on cruise, thought they'd prefer swapping spouses. Since at the time, the law didn't allow a new marriage less than a year after a divorce, the four 'parents' and the son and daughter all move in together. (Of course, the daughter was interested in the boy prior to this, but didn't recall meeting him then...and he was quite interested in her but refused to pursue her, and practically every character was involve in at least one romantic triangle...)
