Yet another lost story request

grandad_rufus

Not much for you guys to go on - I can say that it is not Recluse & Ghost though.

Guy leaves home and either starts working on a road crew then goes into the army, or comes out of the army and joins a road crew.

Really bugging me as this is about the sum total of what I can remember :(

Not the one, but it looks like a good story so will add it to my list.

I seem to recall the MC worked with either Negros or Hispanics on the road crew, later in the story this helped him deal with others in his business ?

Didn't Asa Strong used to be on SOL? Name is familiar but I didn't find it here...

He has an article about how to write stories in the guide to authors section.

Yes, he had several stories here.

I wasn't following things at the time, so I don't know what the cause was, but I do know that he pulled them.

They can now be found at Beyond the Far Horizon, Gina Marie Wylie's site.

Bytemangler's More Than A Stretch is set in the same story verse as one of Asa Strong's stories; Asa wrote his first.
