She moves into the apartment over the garage, buys necessities and fix a fancy meal. They go all the way of course. The womans ex shows up and the mechanic takes him down. I think he later meets her rich daddy, there is also a bar scene

That had been my vague recollection as well but having now reread The Garage, I can see it wasn't the case. She saved that for her asshole ex.
Its a good well written story, and good graphic sex scenes, my only problem with it is the low vulgar tone used. which doesn't really fit for Joe. but that's a minor quibble
