From several years ago. A young guy, I think in Canada, buys a house and resells it. Then other houses. Maybe he redoes homes. Maybe he also builds houses from scratch. There was bidding. I remember one scene, after he's successful, where he's in Hawaii. I am unsure the story was on this site.

I know the stories, but the name alludes me. If it is the one I am thinking of he starts of as an apprentice working for a machinist specializing in vibration reduction. Starts his own firm and rapid success follows.
