Looking for a story where the main character uses mind control to take over majority control of a major corporation and military contractor. In doing so he is able to prevent a military coupe that would have become a major clusterfuck.
In other words, looking for a MC using MC to gain MC of a MC/MC in order to prevent a MC turning into a MC.

I think he's looking for an existing story, because the plot, as stated, sort of rings a bell with me - which means I probably read several years ago.
The story would need a master of ceremonies, and emcee.
